I am grateful to the FN Caring Society for their generosity in supporting my education and efforts to give back to the community. Organizations and opportunities such as these really put their attention and support where it is most needed. I recently became a first time parent July 2026 and I have been involved in student organizations, coaching, mentorship and peer mentorship for many years. And lately I have been trying my best to amplify a goal setting model that was originally thought of for Indigenous youth, I have a website at https://substack.com/@tahkakikohp if anyone is interested in the model. I am also working with a student collective to change curriculum in Social Work education to be more aligned with BIPOC pedagogy. I have three semesters left in my Bachelors of Social Work through the University of Regina and I hope to make an impact in the faculty to change the dynamics of classrooms to become more lateral/peer education, using Kiskinaumatowin, or teaching oneself, teaching another, teaching each other.
