Bear Shares

Introducing Bear Shares 2.0! Bear Shares is a free interactive online game and educational resource that lets players interact with Spirit Bear like never before.

The first version of Bear Shares was launched in June 2024 as part of the Spirit Bear and Children Make History Exhibition. Thanks to funding from the Canada Council of the Arts, and to our incredible project partners at Spotted Fawn Productions and Steamlabs, Bear Shares was relaunched in 2026 with multiple upgrades, including two new "paw portals," a new character, interactive quizzes, a music soundtrack, and French translation.

Bear Shares links the past to the present, celebrates how children are leading the way in reconciliation, and invites children to explore Spirit Bear’s world in an interactive way.

Special thanks to the children who gave feedback on the first version of the game and helped make Bear Shares even better!

How to Play

Bear Shares is a game for all ages, but it is best suited for children aged 6–12. Players travel through four “paw portals,” where they learn from Spirit Bear, complete quizzes, and earn stamps for their “Pawsport.” Players then head over to Mary the Bear’s Classroom for more interactive learning and to download their completed Pawsports.

Bear Shares was developed to support a variety of learning scenarios, such as family, community, and classroom settings. Educators can use Bear Shares as an introductory lesson to prepare students for deeper learning, a culminating activity that helps students reinforce and apply their learning, or as a stand-alone activity.
