Haley Paetkau, her brother Jacob, and friend Abi Porttris have been raising money for Orange Shirt Day through a fundraising campaign at their primary school. Haley and her friends have sold orange bead bracelets for several years, and the money has been donated to First Nations schools in the region. Haley and Abi have also used their creative arts skills to perform special plays and poems by Indigenous artists to celebrate Orange Shirt Day. 

Haley, Jacob, and Abi were honoured by the local First Nations and have participated in the Orange Shirt Day ceremony for the City of Victoria. Most importantly, these students have promoted reconciliation and created learning opportunities among all the students at their school.
