The Reconcili-ACTION Club at Appleby College is a student-led group dedicated to advancing truth and reconciliation through education, advocacy, artistic expression, and community engagement. Throughout the 2025–2026 school year, the club organized initiatives including an Orange Heart Garden honouring residential school survivors, Treaty Recognition Week programming, the Have a Heart letter-writing campaign, and the school’s 5th Annual Red Dress Event raising awareness about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S+). Led by student leaders Diya Kumar and Felicity Liu, the group consistently gave their time during lunchtimes, after school, and evenings to create meaningful opportunities for learning and action within the school community. Their work reflects a sustained commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and to fostering greater awareness, empathy, and justice within their community.
