The Caring Society offers a 1-2 day professional development workshop. It is intended for organizations working with First Nations children, youth and families who wish to learn or expand knowledge about First Nations peoples in Canada as well as to create best practices in working with First Nations children, youth and families.
Based on the 5 Touchstones of Hope principles and the values of the reconciliation process, the workshops:
- Provide information about the Touchstones of Hope and a brief overview of history and current situation of First Nations peoples in Canada;
- Give examples of change in action including Shannen's Dream, Jordan's Principle and the I am a Witness campaign;
- Allow space for participants to develop best practices for engaging with Aboriginal children and youth.
The hosting organization is responsible for covering all costs of the workshop including facilitator fee and costs for travel. The Caring Society would gladly discuss the possibility of coming to your organization to facilitate a Touchstones of Hope professional development workshop. All inquiries can be directed to Andrea Auger 613-230-5885 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
