Final Written Arguments

After more than a year of hearings, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal heard final arguments in the First Nations child welfare case on October 20-24, 2014.  The case will set an important precedent for addressing inequitable Federal Government service delivery to First Nations peoples in other areas such as education, health, housing, and water.

A video archive of the hearings are available here. You can also watch video footage of the case on APTN.

Read the evidence from the final arguments (factums) and the replies to the evidence to learn more about and decide for yourself if First Nations children and youth are being treated fairly. The final ruling is expected from the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal in 2015.
